Steve is “Of Counsel” with Newton, O’Connor, Turner & Ketchum, and has over 20 years of experience representing, counseling and defending employers in workers’ compensation matters.

Steve was lead defense attorney in the landmark Oklahoma workers’ compensation law case, American Management Systems, Inc. and Pacific Indemnity Co. v. Burns, 902 P.2d 288 (Okla. 1995), and he is a frequent presenter and lecturer at legal and insurance seminars on all issues related to workers’ compensation laws, compliance and defense.

Steve earned both is Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Oklahoma, where his distinguished academic performance was recognized by his admittance into the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Eta Sigma honor fraternities as an undergraduate, and the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity in law school.

Steve is a member of the Tulsa County and Oklahoma bar associations, and is admitted to practice in both Oklahoma and Texas.
