Bill is a Shareholder and Director of Newton, O’Connor, Turner & Ketchum, where he provides legal representation for individuals and organizations of all sizes in the areas of Business Law, Commercial Transactions, Corporate Law (Profit and Non-Profit), Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, Probate, Real Estate, Succession Planning, Construction Law and Litigation.
With over 40 years of experience, Bill helped develop and author existing Oklahoma property law statues. Bill established a foundation for his practice as an Assistant District Attorney for Stephens County and later Tulsa County, where he helped manage the legal affairs of Tulsa County government as the Chief Civil Assistant District Attorney. Following his public service, Bill was a sole practitioner for twelve years before joining forces with John O’Connor. Together, they formed a legal practice that has successfully evolved into Newton, O’Connor, Turner & Ketchum.
A former President of the Stephens County Bar Association, Bill continues to serve in bar-related leadership positions as a member of the Oklahoma and Tulsa County Bar Associations. Bill is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association’s Court Operations Committee, the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Real Property Section: Title Standards Committee; and, the Tulsa County Title and Probate Lawyers Association. In addition to his legal service, Bill is also an active member and participant of the Rotary Club of Southeast Tulsa.
As a lecturer of the law, Bill has worked extensively with the Oklahoma Bar Association Continuing Legal Education programs, teaching on numerous topics, to include Advanced Real Estate Law and Planning Opportunities with Living Trusts; and, Bill is a former Adjunct Professor at the University of Tulsa, where he taught Real Estate Law. Bill was also a participating lead in the Cleverdon Real Property Round Table Seminar, and is the author of Deficiency Judgments and Liability of Guarantor.
A long-standing member of the Perry High School Alumni Association, Bill served as pro bono legal advisor in its creation and has remained an active participant. Bill was inducted into the Perry Hich School Alumni Honor Roll in 2009. Bill is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he earned his Bachelor of Science and his law degrees. Bill is admitted to practice in the state courts of Oklahoma, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma. |
